ArcGIS is a powerful GIS (Geographic Information System) Application for Mapping and manipulating Data. It is developed and maintained by ESRI.

ArcGIS which is composed of ArcMap, ArcGlobe, ArcScene, and ArcCatalog is the full suite. Essentially, ArcMap is the application which allows you to create and modify maps and analyzing (2D) spatial data.

ArcMap, is one of the main practical branch of ArcGIS Application, with two other branches ArcGlobe and ArcScene.

ArcMap is the application of spatially downloading, creating, modifying, and analyzing data to produce maps information.

ArcGIS Schematics extension in ArcMap. ArcGIS Schematics extension is used by ArcGIS for Desktop and ArcGIS for Server.
